Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia, a small country in central south eastern Europe. Slovenia is a member state of the European Union since 2004, using the European currency since 2007.

Ljubljana has been built on the site of ancient Aemona. Many Roman ruins have been composed into modern buildings by city's most famous architect Jože Plečnik. Come to his Triple bridge over the Ljubljanica river and enjoy the view of the picturesque castle (first tower is believed to date back to the 13th century), the baroque Cathedral and numerous buildings in the "Vienna Secession" style. Enter the pedestrian zone with its small shops, restaurants, cafes, turning it into a tourist paradise. Ljubljana holds the title of European Green Capital 2016.
