Linear algebra is a very interesting branch of mathematics that has gained in popularity lately. Since many problems are easy to state, it is attracting people of different backgrounds, although their motivation to work in the area may differ a lot. It is our intention to bring together people whose motivation for linear algebra comes primarily from problems in operator theory and algebra, but are willing to learn (or are already familiar with) deeper concepts from either field that may help solve them.
We believe that we should have more time to think about the problems than to listen to each other's formal talks. So, the workshop will be organized in an informal way. After a couple of hours of morning talks as a motivation for our discussions later, we will split into smaller groups to concentrate on our problems.
